You will be shocked to know what FACEBOOK is doing in CANADA?

After the whole Donald trump & Russia fiasco, our dear ol' mark cannot afford another political scandal. Talks are that in my country India too, Facebook targeted ads had a major role to play in getting Prime Minister Modi to power.

But with great power comes great responsibility

After Russia's convenient involvement in the USA presidential elections via none other than Facebook "Fake news page ad campaigns", the social media giant has decided to somehow make amends for its sins. They have launched a new feature called "VIEW ADS" specifically to make political ad campaigns on Facebook more transparent.
Users can now actually check what active ads are being run by a particular page.

“When it comes to advertising on Facebook, people should be able to tell who the advertiser is and see the ads they’re running, especially for political ads,” wrote Ron Goldman, vice-president of ads at Facebook, in his statement.

This feature is currently available only in Canada, so in case you are running any ads which are targeting users in Canada, lo & behold they will be able to see all the ads that you are currently running from your page. (Only the active ads are visible not the target audience, budget or anything else)
In order to wash off their USA election campaign sins Facebook Canada had launched the "Canadian Election Integrity Initiative” in October this year. As part of this initiative Facebook has launched this new cool feature under the testing phase only in Canada.

It is also expected that going forward political campaigns would require heavy documentation & would be put under higher scrutiny before going live.
