Fuck this guy who hacked into every university to spam everyone to join Facebook.

Facebook is a bit late to the party and their whole business model is inherently pretty much opposed to the whole blockchain ideal, which is decentralized and egalitarian by nature. There are, however, projects already brewing in the blockchain ecosystem that aim to change this and create alternative, decentralized, social networks that actually harness the possibilites of blockchain instead of just using it as a hype-tool to appear "in tune with the times". I think a decentralized social network called Matchpool is probably the best example of this. It will be interesting to see if FB is going to be able to retain its position once these competing projects, that don't rely on selling your data and other shady business models, start maturing (just like blockchain tech in general) and hopefully gaining more and more traction.

The history of writting and money. Writing was first sculpted on sand, soil and rocks, then leather, metals and paper, papirus to notebooks, from typewriters to laptops, etc. Money as we know it started with trading, salt was the currency, then metals silver to gold coins, and notebills and now we move on to the digital world currency. It takes time to adapt to the future, hopefully we all adapt, and the next generations will see our notebooks and notebills at the virtual or physical museums. Perhaps, they will call it collectible currencies of the world.

Honestly, I find it quite ironic. A joke almost, as most people surely feel. I don't really use Facebook anyway, but even if Mark did in some way work blockchain into the network, it would probably be closer in ethics to the likes of Ripple and other such projects. Not truly decentralized and not true to the original vision.

But hey, blockchain is like a wonderful new tool, right? People can use it for whatever they want to, regardless of its original intentions, because it helps solve so many issues. And I think that's awesome. Original intentions do not always dictate potential uses and possibilities.

Yeah, you are right on personal ground but I think he should think of measures to make facebook more like steemit where everyone wins.

I agree with that; the world is ready for a shift towards community as opposed to corporation. There's a huge imbalance. I just don't know if the current conglomerate of global corporations (such as facebook) will bend to that willingly.
