In my country (philippines) whiter skin is valued more than its natural color. I can tell because i am also obsessed in whitening my skin, i even used every kind of bleaching soaps, creams, lotions, toners and even glutathione capsules to make my skin whitens.
Not only Philippines is obsessed in whitening, even other Asian countries.If you have a white skin color, especially in here, people will admire you, envy you like some of celebrities in the local showbusiness. They used expensive whitening products to make them white. Even when they are in the beach, they put a sunblock cream to protect their skin from sunburns.
They're also using gluta inject that is more effective than capsules and makes your skin more blooming than ever. A lot of whitening products are sell in malls around the philippines and some whitening ads uses fairer models to promote their products. Only some morena pinays adore their natural skin which i guess foreign males love those skin. In philippines, since spanish era, mestizos are better looking that is why they are envied by many of their skin color rather than moreno pinoys.
And since then, fair-skinned people have higher social class and the opposite are the slaves and working under the suns heat.
That is why if you want to be classy, having skin fair skin will surely suffice.
