Once upon a time, there lived a poor peasant named Haridatta. One day, during a very hot day, the farmer felt very hot and took shelter in the shadow of the trees to lie down for a while. Suddenly he saw a venomous snake coming out of a small hill nearby. At that moment he thought, "Surely this snake is the keeper of this field."

The farmer went home to take some milk from his house, poured it into a bowl, and put it near the snake's nest as a thank-you note, then the farmer said, "O guard of this field, I give this bowl of milk as my gratitude to you ! " After that, the farmer went home. The next morning when he came back to the fields to work, he saw the gold coin in the bowl, and from then on, every day the same incident repeated: he gave a bowl of milk to the snake and every morning he always get a gold coin .

Snake and a bowl of milk One day the farmer will go to the next village for several days and for that he ordered his son to put a bowl of milk in front of a snake's nest in the fields. The son did his father's order, brought a bowl of milk, put it in front of the snake's nest, then returned home. The next morning when he brought another bowl of milk, he found the gold coin in the old bowl, and the Son thought: "This snake's nest may be full of gold coins, and if I kill the snake, I can take it all at once for me." The next day, as he puts a bowl of milk in front of the snake's nest, he waits for the snake to come out, and when the Snake comes out of the nest, the Son strikes the snake's head with a club. But the snake was still lucky to escape death and in a state of anger, pecked the Son with his sharp and venomous teeth so the Son died instantly. The villagers who found the deceased Son buried the child and called the Farmer home.

Two days later after the Farmer arrived home and got an explanation of his son's death, the Farmer felt very sad. But after a few days, he again took a bowl of milk, headed for the field, put the milk in front of the snake's nest and called the Snake out of the nest. After a long wait, the Snake finally appeared and said to the Farmer: "The greed that brought you here now, the greed makes you forget your son's death. From the present moment, the friendship between us can not be intertwined again.Your stupid son hits me with a bat , and I bit him to death How can I forget the blows with his clubs and how can you forget the grief of losing your child?

" After that, the Snake gives an expensive pearl to the Farmer and disappears into the nest. But before disappearing, the Snake said: "Do not come back to my nest." The farmer picked up the pearl, went home to his regrets of his son's folly.
