Bible study: For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope

We enter the kingdom of God through the path of righteousness, righteousness is the foundation of all beatitude: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", Matthew 7:12.
The hope is the security to inherit the eternal life: "This is the eternal life that they know you the only true God", John 17:3. Hope like all spiritual gifts is progressive, and this hope progresses when we always act on ethical principles: "Be imitators of God", Ephesians 5:1.
Faith and hope, which are virtues infused by the spirit, are intimately linked to righteous living: "For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope.", Galatians 5:5

In baptism we inherit faith, hope, and justification. Justification is a special help, to stop living according to the flesh (sin) and start living according to the spirit (righteousness).
According to the teachings of Jesus we have to choose between living according to the flesh and according to the spirit:
"For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the spirit, set their minds on the things of the spirit. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so." Romans 8: 5-7
There is no hope for those who live according to the flesh, that is, for those who practice sin. God's righteousness acts both; on the righteous and on sinners: "Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life", Galatians 6:8.
The devotion to wisdom, the contemplative life is the greatest reward for a life of righteousness: "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." John 4:24. As Paul explains to us, by the spirit, the inner teacher, infused by faith we expect all spiritual goods.
All beatitude, living the spiritual gifts, comes from the spirit, the wisdom infused in the heart of man.
