Jesus and the power of faith: If two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. Matthew 18:19

The master Jesus during his preaching in Galilee, according to the story in the gospel of Saint Matthew, sought to teach the foundations of the Kingdom of God, the dominion or empire of God's perfections, and not only with the beatitudes in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:3-11), and some mysterious parables, but also with direct instructions to manage the new spiritual community that was forming from his message and his figure.
And among these teachings that Jesus left his disciples to spiritually guide the new followers of the kingdom, there is one referring to the power of faith, with these wise words he taught it:
"Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them" Matthew 18:19-20.
With this teaching, Jesus explained that he who doubts cannot receive anything, and this especially refers to the spiritual gifts and assistance of the Holy Spirit in times of difficulty.
In this sense, entering into the Kingdom of God requires certainty and security, because the world is full of difficulties and temptations, and as in the parable of the sower (Matthew 13:4-9 and Matthew 13:18-23), whoever loses constancy and firmness is destined to fail. And an example of this lack of security, faith, and confidence in the blessings of the Kingdom of God was the rich young man who asked Jesus how to obtain the spiritual gift of eternal life (Matthew 19:16-22), and at the first difficulty, he became discouraged and abandoned the path of the Lord.
Jesus wisely taught that nothing is impossible when two or more come together in his name, a teaching intended for the early church that formed after Pentecost with the assistance of the Holy Spirit.
