Life goes on, but GOD Fed the Homeless today!

sir smithlabs you're making me hungry! I could use some of that good grub about now, when it's cold it would be even better! Do you guys do the same meals each time since they're so far apart on the calendar?

We serve three basic meals, plus Thanksgiving turkey. The Beef stew we just finished, Tex-Mex, and Italian are alternated. We have au gratin potatoes, Mac and cheese, and chilli every time; by request. We always have sweet stuff the Ladies make, and when I get crazy, we make a kitchen sink salad.

You got some recipes for 300 you want to share? Always looking for something to add, ROFLOL!

:D

sir smithlabs it sounds like great food! No I have never made food for large numbers of people. well, not in a smorgasboard setting but when I was the grill master for a local BBQ restaurant I had 6 briskets and 7 or 8 pork ribs, dozens of sausages, a turkey and a few chickens at one time but served one at a time or a table at a time.

WOW, brisket for 300 would kill me, ROFLOL! But we do have Turkey coming up soon....

Grill Master? That is Much better than the title of Grill Slave, which I suspect is a better description of the actual job!

Last year, we had 14 turkeys, cooked and sliced; and we used a propane fryer and kettle, filled with turkey gravy to heat up the meat. Every time they ran out of turkey in the roaster, we had another kettle of turkey and gravy heated and ready! We served out 14 Turkeys that way; plus all the trimmings of course!

I swore I would never cook a turkey again, but I am actually thinking about it!

:D

sir smithlabs! oh my gosh you didn't have to do all those 14 turkeys yourself last year did you? Thats a crazy amount of work. All the trimmings, man I hope those people are grateful.

yes, grill slave was more like it, it was tough, the temperature was about 130 degrees in there. My wife was in the next room and when I was start slurring my speech she would make me come out for a few minutes! lol.

I cooked six of the Turkeys here. We had just enough food, and everyone got an exceptional meal that day! I need to start getting ready for Turkey cooking....

I thought that grill slave is more accurate than Grill Master, ROFLOL! I am glad she was watching out for you, somebody needs to...still!

:D

ha! she used to watch out for me but now we hardly ever see each other so that's just the way it is. Besides, she is getting hired for a new job in a couple weeks so she'll be gone half the time so it will just be me and Jack. ..and Jack is asleep half the time! lol.

My lap has a similar problem right now. I need to wake him up to send him to bed, ROFLOL!
