We fed the homeless today. Some of the people that were supposed to bring food did not show today (must have been the Hard Fork, ROFLOL); so we had 8 roasters instead of the 13 roasters we usually have to feed this crowd.
I sent a Man out to buy pizza to make up for the 25 gallons of food we were short. We prayed over the food we had, and blessed it to feed these good people in need, and started serving. We were expecting pizza to show up momentarily, so we were serving heavily as we always do. When the line finally ended, we still had some food, and the Pizza never arrived (they had fouled up the order at the pizza place).
I remembered the loaves and fishes, and realized that we took 40 gallons of food, and fed a group of people that normally eat 65 gallons of food; and had some left over! Everyone ate well, and that was impossible, in the World we live in! But, GOD is not so limited; and covered our bad planning! This may have been the best feed we have done to date.
If you do what GOD wants you to do; even if you screw up, He will cover for you! Everything will turn out just fine; and all will work perfectly.

One guy was to make beef stroganoff but could not find the mix at the store. One Lady, I did not hear from.
I think this may have been GOD reminding me who is really doing the feeding there! In the bustle I needed reminding. In 18 hours, I built up enough RC for ONE short reply!

what the?? one reply? well I don't understand that but they said different account would react differently until if all got re configured, maybe the system wants you to go back to 49!
Hopefully it will improve because we're all restricted, at least I am and most people have said they are.
But about the feeding, that's an inspirational event that happened there, a modern day miracle!

It was truly a Miracle Sunday! We had NOT way to feed all those people, some were going to go without! But we fed every one of them, and no one left hungry.
If I had any question that GOD wanted us to keep doing this, Sunday removed all doubt! When HE stepped in, and helped us feed everyone, it was truly Humbling! I now know for sure this needs to continue!

really..sir smithlabs you mean that before that you had doubts about what you were doing? I mean that doesn't sound very good, is it because those other people disappointed everyone by not doing their part?
And what about that? What did you or anyone tell those people that didn't show up? That's a pretty darn big responsibility to duck and not complete!

To be Human is to doubt oneself. Sometimes I think is this just me (usually when I am carrying multiple roasters to the car on Sunday afternoon, ROFLOL!) because I am usually worn down by then.
I usually do more up front on the phone, so I think I may be partially responsible. The Beef Stew is HARD to make in this amount, and I was tired, and focussed on that.
So many small things have to come together, to make this work. So, I need to make a checklist, for tired idiots!

Hey if that's the case then you need more reliable and dedicated helpers. I know it's a ton of time and work but my gosh they need to be and have to be more dependable than that!

When you work with volunteers, and they are buying, and cooking, large amounts of food; reminders are helpful. When we have a fifth Sunday situation, it also raises the level of confusion some.
I think one of them didn't remember that it was the fifth one, and just came to help serve, assuming that we would have enough. I bet he does NOT do that again, ROFLOL!
We just have to keep working to improve! I also need to delegate more on Beef stew weekends....

My Back would disagree with you this morning, ROFLOL! But today, I unload the car and do clean up for the October feed. It takes about 4 days to arrange and do this feed every month.

We get a lot of food donations , and all the food is cooked in private kitchens We fell down a little on organization this time (My fault) But we usually do better! My Church donates over half the food we serve now, and we all pick the rest up individually.
We are made up of six different churches, and four denominations. We even have a motorcycle club that comes and helps serve.
This Sunday was a special blessing, because we were very short on food! We were 25 gallons short of the 65 gallons we normally feed them. Yet we were able to feed them ALL, well! GOD took our 40 gallons of food we did prepare, and made it feed them, with a little left over.

This time, we had a lack of food, and were blessed with 40 gallons of food acting like 65 gallons. It was amazing to watch GOD extend the food to feed everyone, He is amazing!
Since we thought we had pizza coming, we were not serving smaller portions either. We like to FILL their plates with hot food, so they have a good meal!
It is always a blessing to be allowed to be GOD's hands; but this was a special blessing to see his heart for these people!
