Faithful to God: But you, our God, are good and true, slow to anger, and governing all with mercy. Wisdom 15:1

The Book of Wisdom, a book dedicated to the study of the most excellent and perfect science, the science of wisdom, shows us Israel's fidelity to the true God in the face of the idolatry of neighboring towns, like the ancient Egyptians or the Canaanites who are given as an example in the book, because the wisdom is inextricably linked to the law, as the prophet Moses taught to the Israelites in the desert: "Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations" Deuteronomy 4:6.
False gods bring with them false teachings, the Bible explains to us wisely, that is why where there is idolatry there is the heresy, the falsity, and also the most serious form of corruption in society, the impiety, that is, the hostility towards our neighbor:
"Equally odious to God are the evildoer and the evil deed;
and the thing made will be punished with its maker.
Therefore upon even the idols of the nations shall a judgment come,
since they became abominable among God's works" Wisdom 14:9-11.
For this reason, the Book of Wisdom tells us that when we are faithful to God, we find the correct path of life, the path of mercy (compassion, kindness, gentleness), the path of righteousness ("Do to no one what you yourself hate" Tobit 4:15).
Idolatry, and its most modern and hidden form, which is the love of money, is a sin that separates us from God and that is the origin of numerous sins; the only true God is the source of ethics in man, that is why recognizing God is recognizing his beatitude and his spiritual blessings, as the master of wisdom with faithfulness explained in his book:
"But you, our God, are good and true,
slow to anger, and governing all with mercy.
For even if we sin, we are yours, and know your might:
but we will not sin, knowing that we belong to you.
For to know you well is complete righteousness,
and to know your might is the root of immortality" Wisdom 15:1-3.
