To inspire and encourage more positive vibes on Steemit, here's your Daily Dose Of Faith In Humanity & Good Karma!

[Survival Pack] People need to see this and spread the word. With the reality of tragic school shootings, children should be educated that backpacks and textbooks can be effective body armor at their disposal in an emergency. With education, children and teachers can increase their chance of survival just enough to escape harm. When there's not much else to turn to as an alternative, I think this is fairly critical to see and pass along.

Please take a moment to watch these videos suggesting that textbooks in backpacks are capable of stopping short-range bullets of several calibers. The encouraging part of this is that almost every student should have these at hand and be made aware that they can use them for a layer of protection for their critical body mass.

*There are no guarantees here, but this does give some hope over no coverage at all.

[Good Samaritans^2] A man suffered a major heart attack outside of a food store in a small town that doesn't even have a traffic light. While some people are inclined to assist, I'd imagine that apathy could affect others who assume that the situation is being handled.

Well, not in this case... Over the course of 96 minutes, over 20 nearby strangers and business owners from the town who heard of the emergency rushed over and waited for their turn to perform CPR before medics arrived without missing a beat. I think it's amazing that so many people either knew the procedure or were able to learn it quickly and successfully.
This is a good reminder for me to refresh my understanding of CPR because there's no excuse not to be proficient in it.

To round off this story, the man made a full recovery and was able to meet everyone who played a vital role in sustaining him during the crisis. At the reunion below, he personally thanked everyone for their hand in keeping him alive, and probably made a bunch of new friends in the process.

[Man's Best Friend*] This is a touching story I came across years ago thought to share for those who haven't seen it before. It's a story about a lion cub that was born in 1969 at a zoo in the UK, where its mother rejected him. The cub was sold to a prestigious department store (weird), where two Australian tourists bought him shortly thereafter. They named him Christian and raised him in London for about two years, letting him play in an enclosed park daily for exercise. As he quickly grew, it became necessary to return him to Africa, where he'd be able to roam on a wildlife reserve. The video below shows the touching moment his former owners returned to Africa to be reunited with him for the first time. The owners were told that the lion wouldn't recognize them anymore, but they wanted to see for themselves. It's a great scene starting at 3:22 below. Enjoy the show.

I suppose that dogs aren't man's only best friend.

I appreciate the message that love and parenting knows no bounds. When someone or an animal is loved properly, the love never leaves.

Awesome! Thank you for posting these I look forward to each one! (btw I got a 1/4" thick math textbook at school, should I assume my teacher hates me?)

This video gets me every time! It's so touching and amazing proof that if you love someone you'd do everything for them! Just amazing how they were able to capture that on tape!

I really enjoyed your CPR story, I think it's needed that everyone knows how perform CPR, since everyone could be in that situation at any time. Respect to all those who helped that man right away! :)

This is so inspiring, and educating. We should all stay safe in the safest ways we possibly can. Thank you for this.

Great story, full of inspiration. Thanks for blessing my morning
