"Many people do not understand what the word graphic engine means"

Todd Howard, boss of Bethesda , has spoken with the GameStar portal about Fallout 76 and the criticism that the new project of the study is finding in terms of a supposedly little graphic advance for its proposal.

"I think there are people, people who do not develop videogames and who do not understand what the graphic engine words really mean," explained Todd Howard. "They think that the engine is one thing, and we see it as a technology composed of many different parts and, for each game, all the parts change."

The creative, one of the great names in the series The Elder Scrolls , spoke about it by putting clear examples. "Rendering, artificial intelligence, animations, the programming language and much more ... Some people talk about Gamebryo , but we have not used it in more than a decade, our graphics engine contains many middleware elements like Havoc ."

"For Fallout 76 we've changed a lot of things ," Howard explained. "The game uses a new rendering mechanic, a new lighting system and also an unprecedented one to generate the terrain, for Starfield there are even more changes and, for The Elder Scrolls 6 that is already on the horizon, even more."
