Then and Now: Old Style Cameras vs Mobile Phone Cameras

in family •  7 years ago

So today, after seeing a lot of old photos of mine and my relatives (throwback as what they called it), sent thru our group chat in one of a social media platform, I was able to reminisce old happy days of ours.

As we called ourselves "younger generations" born under the year 199x, the 1990's kids who grew up capturing memories using an Analog Cameras, we value every photo that we have taken and printed and able to preserve up until now.

Compared to the so called millennial generations who grew up capturing photos using mobile phones and those "techy" gadgets, we were using this one back then. For our family, we only have chances to use and take pictures occasionally. We have those opportunities during celebration of birthdays, family outings, graduations, family gatherings, and holidays season. You need to use films for these kind of device.

We are very cautious and careful in taking pictures before. I don't remember if how much the films cost that time, if it is expensive or not. But sometimes our films is just a 12 shots, some days a 24, 30 shots or we're lucky if we have 72 shots or a back up film to take pictures for the whole day. Unlike gadgets being use these days where you can take unlimited pictures and delete it afterwards if you don't like it, in our time, we couldn't delete what we have been captured even if the picture was blurred or we just accidentally press the button. And that will count as one shot wasted already. How sad.

Bringing back the old days, I can still remember how excited each and everyone of us whenever we have those filmed printed already. We are racing to see first what we looked like in those pictures. And then we will laughed together. Below are the old pictures that are still on our possession, safe keep somewhere :)

Group Pictures 😁😁😁😁😁

We all grew up now and have different paths chosen to take. Some of us have our own family, others are getting old. We still see each other and the technology nowadays makes it easy for us to communicate with each other. Sending selfies in an instant. Uploading pictures taken few minutes ago in some of our social media accounts. Everything is easy to do now. But then not all prefer to have those pictures printed, some would just want it uploaded on their personal accounts while others just want it stored in their phones. But whatever and whichever they want to do with those pictures, it will always be a treasure to each and everyone of us. Seeing those will always tells us a story.

I remember those cameras. I remember how great it felt when I got my first camera, which was nothing impressive, but worked, & was good enough for a child. Great shots, by the way. I was wondering though -- how did you italicize the words, & make the photos so small on your post?

Thank you for the compliments. Having cameras like that when you're a kid was really cool :)

I love the singer photo of you. Id love to see that one day. Precious memories from the past are treasures. I lost a lot of them better have them scanned. I regret I didn't.

Oh! HAHAHA My hidden talent :D Well, I'm still hiding it HAHAHA I remember how we used to sing before. We are just using cassette tape and following the tune. Old times ♥

Some photos were keep in an album so it didn't got lost. I feel bad that you aren't able to scanned some photos, but still you can start taking and collecting pictures now so in the future you have photos to look back some day and reminisce good memories.

These are the reasons why I love to look on my baby album! I always insisting my mom to give my old photos. Hahaha! Reminiscing the past is a great thing to do. Awesome pictures sissy! More more more! Haha lol.

I think I've posted too much photos already :D

Oh, I think it's your turn now, why don't you show us some of your photo when you're still a baby :)
