Divorce is the most difficult phase for married couples, it is becoming a common phenomena in our society today, it has cause severe effect on the children, there is a popular saying that where two elephant fights,(the man and the woman) the grass suffers ( the children). I will highlight few effects on children.

1. Mental effect. Most children who are mentally derailed are as a result from divorce struggles between his or her parents, imagine a child expecting to be brought up in love witnessing break up of both parties that could have helped the child grow well in manner and conduct. Most of them struggle academically.

2. Withdrawal. Most children who are dependent on both parties suffer a great level of withdrawal when those parties get into divorce, they have a difficulty relating with other children especially those who are still in the company of their parents, they tend to be more aggressive and stressed.

3. Sadness, nothing feels good in life to them again as they sometimes suffer depression. They tend to be violent and loose their temper at the slightest provocation.
