Davie and Goliath, the animated children's TV Show of the 1960's is a cherished memory by many adults today. The show was produced by the Lutheran Church in America and created by Art Clokey, Ruth Clokey, and Dick Sutcliffe. The show always had a spiritual moral and dealt with such subjects as respect, prejudice , sharing and authority. Later subjects included racism, death and religious intolerance Characters included his sister Sally, parents John and Elaine Hanson, friend jimmy, teddy and Nathaniel. The show introduced spiritual morals without being too church like.

The show started in February 1961 as a 15 minute episodes on Saturday lasting until 1965. Through the late 1960's and early 1970's it resumed with special 30 minutes episodes. After a 30 year reprieve a final show was produced in 2004.

Sit back and enjoy an old episode of the great Davie and Goliath show.

Yes, I remember watching it and getting so much of it. Thanks for sharing.

My pleasure. Even as an adult It still speaks to me.

I am dating myself now, but I remember watching these shows as a child, early sunday morning, right before my mother and I would go to church, and I really enjoyed it because I have always loved cartoons and animated features, but this was a christian oriented show, and that is why I am sure my mother let me watch it on sunday mornings!

I watched it on Saturdays at Grandma's house. I loved it and still do. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your response, I just may post about all the shows I loved to watch as a child!

They were great shows. Again thanks.

I remember! You just don't see programs like this on mainstream media anymore.

You are correct. I miss that era. Good moral and principles were taught to our youth. Maybe that is our problem today. We need to bring back or create new programs that speak of higher morals and integrity to our children. Thanks!!

Thank you so much!!!! You have warmed my heart. I will talk to a friend of mine, however is there a way to download that as a keepsake on my computer????? I would like to either save it or get a hard copy disk. Thanks for the kind words and honor. - Blessings - Troy

The only way I can think of is you record the youtube version to your desktop. The file is too large to send via email + you would need the same editing software and encoder to even play it. Glad you liked it, that is one of the reasons I asked about your fav song as I was going to overlay on the video, but as it turned out the most fitting was your own rendition that you shared on an earlier post. Don't forget to resteem it, maybe you can catch a bunch more followers (and voters)

I have this show on DVD and my young children will sit quietly and watch the entire DVD, about 2 hours long. One of the few things they have watched all the way and they request it sometimes which is an added bonus.

I remember the show, but not at the level of detail that you do!

I recall that it was enjoyable at the time...
