Caring for my sick boy

in family •  7 years ago

I was going to write a post about our visit to Gettysburg but I find it hard to focus on that. I will write a short post about why that is instead.
Today my son is sick. He has stomach cramps and has not been able to keep any food or water down since this morning. It's probably just a stomach bug but it makes me feel so helpless. He has had a similar thing before and then he got better in a couple of days. Most of you are probably used to things like this but I'm not. We never got sick in my family growing up! I have never had a stomach bug myself.

Tonight we made a bed of the dinnette right next to the bathroom and I get to sleep next to my sick boy.
I hope and pray that he feels better tomorrow.

He'll be OK. Our pediatrician once told me that there are something like 10,000 different viruses and bacteria that kids need to be exposed to over time to grow a healthy immune system. So you got one down! He's luck to have you as your parent, and you have a chance to really care for him. He'll be better soon! You're a good parent- keep it up

Thank you. I know that being sick is a natural part of being human. It's just hard to feel it when in the middle of it.

How is your boy doing?
