In the darkest and coldest part of the last night looking at the children huddled up together with blankets, i had a moment.
It had been three days and it felt terrible already, by that night i was really letting my mind run amok with my imagination. I was hard on myself for not getting enough together already. There were jobs i put off, like the solar power, checking the batteries, candles and gas bottles. The cooker damn it, why were the pipes so expensive?
The first thing i noticed was definitely the cold, when i could no longer tip the oil tank to get the last dribble the temperature dropped fast. When i put on the small heater to one room the remaining £2 soon went and i didn't realise someone had already put on the emergency £5, so when it was gone it was gone.
We cheered ourselves up and i said to the children lets get prepared for the night and we made an adventure out of it during the first day. We made sure we got everything we needed for when it got dark. I keep a box in the pantry specifically for these moments, it has a torch, candles, lighters, gas canisters, kettle, low wattage bulbs that plug into your laptop or ipad. I also had two leisure batteries for the intended solar panel, but i had not used the inverter or hooked the batteries up since we bought them. I did prepare those as well but the inverter is only up to 700w so the heater couldn't be used.
We decided to charge up the tablets and laptop at night but that took a lot of charge but i thought if i plug the internet into the inverter then at least we will be entertained if we all watch one tablet between the 3 of us.
Half way through night two we had used all the power out of the batteries and the tablets so we played cards by candle light.
During the second day i managed to cobble frankensteins' monster in the kitchen, with no proper connections, no instructions, only certain wires with the wrong connections....it was worse when you are cold and hungry, it was harder to concentrate but the photo shows what i was able to do with not a lot. I smashed up some other car charger and took the amp meter off and hooked it up to the batteries and the clamps with the wire attached. That was really helpful as my solar charger doesn't show clearly what the charge is. (bought a cheap one second hand).
Thanks to the military murder machine the chemtrails blocked out the sun and the charge dropped by at least 50% by 12pm and then practically non existent by 3pm. Great so no charge then.
The pump to my chemtrail buster in the aquaponics unit really clears the sky but it works amazingly well when the water is running.....i needed the electric to get that going.
Funny thing is i had a brain fart when on the third day.....what if i run the hose into it?
That did work and when the clouds started to clear the amps went up just enough to have a little bit of entertainment by the end.
This was one of the more significant impressions from the 3 day prep fail, if you are planning on using solar then having a cloudbuster may well be a useful addition to your prep items. You can see the charge is significantly greater by using it.
To make things a bit more difficult some of my food prep was out of date by a few years, batteries had no charge or were leaking, and the gas to the cooker was only quarter full.
As a family the children looked at the problem with an acceptance that it wont be long before we can switch on again, but i know at some point many of us will be hitting this point of struggling on a daily basis. I know that we will need to be more self sufficient, the pipes to the cooker need to be connected because without that wood fired stove i had no hot water, no heat, no cooking so it is vital if i have to come off grid in a rental house.
I plan on buying at least another four leisure batteries and getting them all connected and a larger inverter, and so many other items that all need replacing.
The point of this post is really to say that what is coming is an attack on all our energy, the energy in the water, the energy from the sun being blocked out, your life energy being hit by frequencies, your food energy and immune system is being attacked.
I have many other prep items that i did not need but the biggest fail was surely the basics, the energy appliances. It was the only thing that i needed as a whole and it was hard to harvest what little i had.
I hope in some way this provokes you to check your prep to see what is still good and to remember sitting in the dark wishing you had done more to get those fundamental things done is a lonely, cold and hungry place for your mind to work.
We are back on the electricity now and the importance of friends in your network of woke people you know can also help. I had a call from a friend who offered to show me some criminal tips on how to nobble your meter, which i declined at this stage. She is from a rough part of Rotheram which practically makes her a professional criminal it appears.
I had a food donation from another friend, and other help when we needed it and even when we didn't.
I was humbled by their generosity and schooled by my own stupidity.
