The school production, my role is the doorman. I have to stop babies from entering. I live in the United Arab Emirates near Dubai.
I shouldn't complain, I work as a specialist ICT teacher in the primary school, so I am not directly involved in the production. Many hours of hard work over 6 weeks goes into making the show.
I have to be careful what photographs I take. The show was based on The Lorax. This was the design towards the stage area.
It is pretty impressive. The production is held outside. It does not get cold and it very rarely rains. So a stand is put up for the performance.
The job has some perks. There is no shortage of food. Parents brings boxes of pizza, doughnuts, etc. However, the children are not allowed to eat until they've been on stage.
But it also means that I don't get to spend the evening with my boy. I was allowed to leave early and I had a couple of hours, but it went too quick.
I'm not home until after 10pm. Luckily I only have one lesson the next day.
I can use the day to catch up on jobs, except I was far too tired in the afternoon.
The production seemed to go smoothly. No children were admitted.
There we are, the show must go on.
