There's no “beast from the east” in the United Arab Emirates. Adverse weather conditions is cloudy with a spot of drizzle. Today's weather. A good way to start the weekend, go to the park.

There is a part of me that would love to see the South West of England covered in rare snow. I've seen some stunning pictures and it looks beautiful.

However in Sharjah, near Dubai, we can spend the day out and about.

Friday and Saturday is the weekend here. Friday mornings are quiet, so is a great time to take my 17 month old boy to the park. As soon as we are near, he knows where we are going, and he gets excited.

I love the fact that there is a nice bakery nearby, and a great place to buy cheese manakish. It is the best ever.

After a while, Robbie starts to get tired. I'll walk him around to get sleep and take some nice pictures.

Robbie now is sleeping.

Mummy (@sherylneil) is doing some art work.

I'm going to have a rest myself.

Eventually, Robbie wakes up. We have one more go on the slides, then go to the waterfront. Some very slight drizzle so we don't stay long.

We went to the supermarket on the way home, now I'm super tired.

Love the simple things in life. A park or a beach. Time with the family. That is my bliss.
