When it comes to toys, there are parents who offer a lot of toys to their children. But if we listen in what scientists who have made an experiment (36 children attended) at Toledo University Ohio have to say, it's healthier for kids to play with fewer toys.

Children were divided into two groups. In the first group kids were offered fewer toys, while in the second group much more. After 1 hour of playing, the conclusion of the scientists was that in the group where the children had fewer toys, they showed more creativity and initiative than the children who had more toys available.

Another benefit that has been noticed by scientists was that in the first group of children, they socialized more with each other and searched for more variants to use their little toys in their games.

Following the study, parents were advised to give children fewer toys at a time. It turns out that when a child has too many options this will require him to stress more finding the best option and it will get him tired quickly.

My wife and I try not to buy our nieces and nephews toys that much anymore. They have so many already from their parents and other members of the family. We try to take them to shows and plays for their birthdays. We would rather share experiences with them than a toy that they play with for a day or two before moving on to the next new thing. This was a great article to read. Thanks for the info! -@bozz
