A simple day

Went on a family walk on a nature trail,
It was a very beautiful site to see,
Everything was so green and bright,
The wind moved the branches and you could hear the birds around us.
My kids picked up big rocks along the way,
Ran ahead to see what was coming next,
There was a few benches along the way,
We stopped to talk and have a snack,
Crossed a bridge that swayed and made some noise,
But in the end we got to a waterfall,
We threw our shoes to the side and got in,
Water was a little cold,
I loved the sight and sound of how the water flowed,
The kids giggled and played,
They enjoyed everything along the way,
It was just a fantastic day,
How we take for granted the free things in life like time with our families and a simple walk.
