Life could have been different

My mother in law is a cruel lady and there are umpteen instances when she has proved that she can never be a better human being. She has never treated her daughter in laws as humans. Me and my co sister remained quiet over the years m, but seems like my co sister has lost her phone patience. She has been treating my mother in law like a piece of shit all while keeping her at home.

It's not that we want her thrown out of home, but it is just that whenever we see her, we go bonkers and that reflects our relationship with our husbands. I and my co sister are on good terms. My co sister says she had had enough of mother in law's tantrums and she has decided that she would surely change her behavior and show her how she is required to live like. I on the other hand have learnt to find peace within the four walls of my room. I rarely, or can say, I never talk to her.

Recently my co sister was telling me how mother in law is on the lookout for a new reason to pick up fights. I told this to my husband and he told me that his mother is picking up fights because she is feeling lonely. Now, she is a very lazy human who doesnt help a bit with anything including taking care of children.

It feels so good when I hear stories about her distress. Though I don't trouble her in any way, I feel on cloud 9 when I hear her cribbing for things which she once scolded me for. It feels good to know that God is watching.

She is my husband's mother and he does have a soft corner for her, bit I have lost all respect for her when she didn't treat my kids like they were supposed to be.

I wonder how life would have been if this toxic mother in law would have been absent from my life. She made my life miserable, but she also motivated me unknowingly. I am a stronger and patient human being now, all thanks to her.
