Killed in winnipeg CFS care: letters from Tina Fontaine's friends case #1

Here is a letter from on of my interviewees when I spoke to them about Tina they told me how they were in the same group home and would sometimes take off together. I asked her to write about Tina when we first spoke but she was with her friends and said it wasn't the right time. She met up with me today and wrote about me a letter about Tina Fontaine. I will rewrite the letter as it is written.

I was in care with Tina, I remember the day we took of, she was scared and confused just trying to escape her reality. I only knew her for a short amount of time, but long enough to know she had great potential, she was a sweet girl who was tired of being hurt and taken for granted as most CFS kids are, she wanted to go place and with a drive like her's she would have been.
Tina was a beautiful soul, I should have never let her go on her own, I was older, I regret letting her go. Burrows was her last straw she would have done anything to escape her fate. Tina told me she was gonna see a friend and that she would be ok, she'd done it before so I trusted what she told me. When she didn't come find me again I worried, to afraid to go to the authorities I searched for her myself without luck. I would do anything to turn back time and take the pain for her. We lost a precious rose.

This person was in Ndinawe group home with Tina Fontaine. She was older and they would hang out and she knew some of the places Tina would go. She said Tina was a good person but was sad about many things. They both bonded
over losing their fathers. She said when Tina went missing she checked a few places.
This is a hard topic for her but she said may be able to find me more information on what happened to her and who sexually exploited her.

If we all work together those that sexually exploited that 15 year old will pay for what they did.

If we all work togther we can find out who killed Tina Fontaine and why.

If we do nothing then those that buy sex from kid will continue to act with impunity.
