my mother works as a social worker in the community. shes been doing so for thirty plus years. she deals a lot with cps. she does not like CPS as and entity or as represented by their employees. now this is not to say that there arent good CPS people, because there are, quite a few, more than most think anyway. however cps doesnt always act in the interest of the family or the child, but in a way that will benefit CPS as a whole. the main head of the local cps had to quit a few years back because she held a party hosting underage kids, a lot of booze, and at least 3 different types of drugs. all of this after her husband went to prison for drug and gun crimes. her "best friend" got her position. depending on where you are and the way people see "the system", CPS ranges from needing reform, to being totally counter productive for our society.
