Norwegian mother cries for help after 6-year-old daughter sexually assaulted in foster care

I've refused payment on this post - it's a headline. But it's a very serious cry for help @familyprotection.

Norway's child care services have been reluctant to take action following the sexual abuse of a six-year-old child by her foster family, to the outrage of the child's own family.

Stine Gulbrandsen, a Norwegian mother of two girls, poured her heart out in a video explaining what happened to her and her children.

Speaking in Turkish journalist Fuat Uğur's program in broadcaster ATV, Gulbrandsen explained that after her boyfriend decided to end their relationship, he kicked her and the older child out. She contacted the police and Barnevernet, the child welfare service in Norway, to take her younger daughter, only six-months-old back then. The police refused to intervene and Barnevernet warned her if she doesn't resolve the issue with her boyfriend they would take both children away. Instead of helping the young mother, the policemen sent by Barnevernet took the children away and placed them under the care of a "bizarre family," Stine explained in the footage.

"Later I found out that something happened to my six-year-old daughter. They found her with an older boy or man in the same bed, both naked," said the mother. "I got worried and contacted the police."

The police failed to react again, so she went to Barnevernet, where the authorities mocked her and even claimed that it was probably the six-year-old girl's fault to be sexually assaulted.

"For the first time in my life I got angry. I was afraid for my children," said Stine and continued to tell that she assaulted the social worker upon her mocking remarks.

Stine was sentenced to 10 months in prison and a fine of 400,000 Norwegian krone (around $47,000). Upon her release she continued her studies and has been fighting to get her children back.

"The government doesn't want to give my children back. This cruelty against children and their parents in Norway has to stop", she cried out.

Barnevernet is internationally known for taking children away from families without concrete reasons and gaining financial profit from it. Many other families like Stine's are affected every year. Another example of a family that was torn apart from this child welfare service is the Kiriş family from Turkey.

Governments around the world,
are using "Child Protection Agencies"
to take children away from loving families
and place them in foster care or group homes
or put up for adoption.
THESE FAMILIES NEED PROTECTING.

Thank-you @healingherb for supporting @familyprotection

I cannot say that I am surprised. This is beyond wrong. Thank you for posting. Folks need to realize that the system is rigged and there are too many bad people in power these days.

Strength in numbers. Get to know your neighbors and break bread because we don't know what is happening around us unless we talk to each other. The "news" is there to distract not inform.

You are so right @yoginiofoz - things are getting urgent now.

Thank you for finding this!

Thanks for resteeming it - it's such a serious case.

Horrible!😠

Beyond horrible indeed.

These people NEED to be mass executed by the gun!. Infuriated !

We need more people like your beautiful friend....

Thank you very much for the facts you shared here. I just hope something is done to this bad stuffs happening to children around the world by the evil people.

You're right @gloglo. The evil has to stop asap.

Not sure whether I will be able to watch this video as just reading that story has upset me.
How do you refuse payment? And have you done this out of respect? or is it something different? Not judging I am just curious as it does feel strange earning off this misery.

It's gutting, @article61. I refused payment because I took the vid and article from a friend's Facebook page and it was a very quick cut and paste onto steemit - those aren't my words. It took all of 5 seconds and felt it would be too cheeky to solicit votes from FP. That was my choice, though no judgement to anyone who would have charged for it. I know what you means about feeling strange to refuse payment but if that was the case then no one would post ANYTHING on this tragic topic ifkwim :)

Lol, good point. That's a fair enough reason. How do you refuse? I've never noticed that option.
ifkwim to you too, I think....(No idea what it means :)

Barnevernet is a terrible institution. Some time ago I wrote about the misery endured by several Romanian families living in Norway. Some managed to get their children back, but only after a terrible legal fight. This service seems to operate completely above the law and not even diplomatic protests or rallies held throughout Europe made any difference.

It's a very tough situation as I understand it, @ladyrebecca. I've heard about the Romanian families in Norway. I can't imagine what those parents went through inc those who fought the law (not to mention what those poor children are going through). There are lots of officials in the EU who know what's going on - it's well infiltrated. In fact, it seems to be designed to be like this. I'm forever trying to come up with ideas/solutions......maybe FP will be able to pool brains and come up with ideas.....
