Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc approved a project for the full development of the child in the first years of life in his family and in the community during the period 2018-2025.
The project aims to ensure the physical, mental and spiritual development of children aged 0 to 8 years and to provide them with equal access to comprehensive development care services, to realize children's rights and to contribute to the development of children's resources. national human rights.
As part of the project, 70% of children aged 0 to 8 will also have access to health care, education and protection services and social welfare.
In addition, 70% of civil servants working in child-related areas and parents will have the knowledge and skills to support the child's overall development.
Half of the cities and provinces under central authority will establish networks of care for the complete development of the child and will pilot the model in family and in the community.
To this end, by 2025, the project will focus on communication work to raise public awareness of care for the full development of the child during the first years of life.
In Vietnam, nearly 25% of children under five are stunted. About 77% of preschoolers (aged 3 to 5) and 13% of kindergarten children (under the age of 3) do not attend formal preschool programs.
