Elitist Child Abuse Pediatrician 'Specialists' Seek to Control Court Evidence, Public Perception and Media Narrative of Child Injuries

When looking into medical kidnapping, there is a subset of doctors that are often involved, so-called child abuse pediatricians or 'specialists'. They play a central role in families losing their children to state 'care'. They often ignore seeking out medical conditions that aren't diagnosed yet, and favor accusing the parents of harming their child to justify the state authority of the child procurement syndicate kidnapping children from loving homes.

The most common child abuse claims these 'specialists' make are for Shaken Baby Syndrome, multiple broken bones, and Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy. Parents lose custody of their children based on incorrect 'diagnoses', if you want to call them that. Some even get sent to prison for child abuse when they didn't do anything of the sort. Child abuse 'doctors' have this much power to ruin lives. yet, other medical experts often testify to other explanations that aren't abuse which account for a child's injuries.

But these child abuse 'experts' refuse to acknowledge the medical condition. They hold a lot of power, and don't like being challenged on it. Judges, social workers and attorney for CPS dismiss medical evidence that explains a medical condition that would exonerate parents of any wrong doing. Instead, they just want to throw the book blindly and convict innocent people, based on the word of the elitist child abuse 'specialists'. The label 'child abuse specialist' carries more weight and authority for these people, qualifying them above all other doctors of being capable of providing more accurate diagnoses.

It appears money and power has driven these class of doctors to create an environment that favors their authority above others. They try to silence oppositional views and evidence in order to keep the illusion of being the best there is. They try to train the media and public into accepting them as the all-knowing 'Oz' that rules the domain.

They want to be theones to control how evidence is "interpreted", as the Child Abuse Pediatrician Susan B. Luberoff, MD admits:

"A big part of my job is interpreting information for people that are not medical, interpreting medical information for law enforcement officers, for DSS caseworkers, for teachers, for other people that have a concern, and they’re being barraged with a lot of big words that they don’t understand, and maybe can misunderstand, and go down the wrong path."

Apparently, no one is qualified to understand how a child is abused other than them, even other doctors. The Ray E. Helfer Society is the elite group that pushes for control of perception management and narrative creation. The "lay public" don't understand things, so they are there to tell people waht to think, contrary to what other doctors might be saying and disproving child abuse. In their Public Relations and Media Literacy Training they write:

"Child abuse physicians have always talked to the lay public. Testimony to judges and juries is a regular part of CAP practice, and physicians have been called upon to talk to the press about high profile cases and prevention agendas."

The Helfer Society doesn't like it when other medical experts disagree with their policies, and they seek to discredit them, even sometime trying to ruin their careers. Because in their elitist minds, only they can be the accurate interpreters of the data. Dr. Waney Squire isone doctor who challenges their elitist orthodoxy, and call the so-called 'science' of Shaken Baby Syndrome junk science. The child abuse 'specialists' think their interpretations are solid gold that can't be wrong. But medical diagnoses have a history of disagreement, and their 'specialty' is no different, and even more so prone to errors in judgment.

The Helfer Society wants to maintain their authoritarian superiority in this field though:

***"Arguably this job [of talking to the lay public and press] has gotten both harder, and more important in the last ten years.

A number of physicians have shown up regularly in court to put forth opposing and often novel theories for individual children’s injuries. Some of these same physicians have been creating a body of medical literature challenging the foundation of child abuse diagnosis, much of it novel hypothetical and poorly [sic – It is unclear what word they left out, whether “conducted,” “written,” or “accepted by the Helfer Society members.”]

Armed with this literature, these physicians have developed alliances within the legal community and lay press to bring these arguments to legal journals and lay media. The Tuerkheimer law review article and the PBS/Pro Publica television segment are two well known examples."*** - Source

The loss of their authority in cases as they are questioned or doubted seems to make them angry:

"Recent media representations of child abuse issues have been hot topics on the Helfer list-serve, and instill passion and calls to action, as well as anger and sometimes disgust among members."

They want to keep the power and authority in check, so that they can keep their funding and money flowing for their reputed 'expertise'. When other doctors or the media challenge them, they lose their leverage:

"The importance of educating our members on interacting with the media ripples into every part of our profession: for our profession’s standing in the public eye; for our advocacy with government legislature and funding agencies; for education of the public and other key stakeholders; and for the protection of children in general."

The Public Relations Committee of the Helfer Society is ran by the president, Dr. Christopher Greeley. Their purpose appears to be about shaping public opinion and shifting the minds of those who don't accept their conclusions:

Purpose: To discuss and generate the Helfer Society’s public responses to current and anticipated controversies and debates which occur in the field of Child Abuse Pediatrics.

Scope: The scope of the committee includes issues affecting our professional practice, the research and science in our field of practice and public policy affecting families and children

Aims:

Primary Aim

The primary aim of the committee is to provide the Helfer Society a mechanism for a public voice on issues which affect the field of Child Abuse Pediatrics.

Secondary Aims

1. To provide a vehicle for the Helfer Society to generate public comments on issues in the media.
2. To provide the Helfer Society a vehicle for publically addressing challenging scientific, policy and professional issues concerning Child Abuse Pediatrics.
3. To provide a mechanism for Society members to engage in the public policy and media arena as part of their clinical practice. This committee would provide resources or policy recommendations as directed by the committee chair or Society president.

Former district attorney Deborah Tuerkheimer also denounces the junks science of these 'specialist'. She wrote The Next Innocence Project: Shaken Baby Syndrome and the Criminal Courts to debunk the Shaken Baby Syndrome. She also spoke in a film called The Syndrome which these 'specialists' tried to prevent being vied at film festivals:

If the Helfer Society continues to get their way, many parents will continue to be falsely accused, with children kidnapped and families destroyed. Other doctors are doing a great justice to stand against these medical tyrants who try to silence them, to denounce them, and try to derail their careers. They are the ones who truly stand for the Hippocratic oath, truth and justice in the medical field.

CPS would do well to not solely rely on child abuse pediatricians. But maybe that would stop their medical kidnapping schemes. As a result of this joint effort from these two authorities, children are put into more dangerous situations, being 6 times more likely to be molested, abused, raped or murdered in foster care than their original families. The media also needs to report on alternative explanations more which does the others side, the more likely to be true side. This would help correct then narrative, rather than let the Helfire Society and child abuse 'specialists' control medical interpretations and destroying families as a result.
