CPS & Me: Fear

in familyprotection •  7 years ago

I didn't count them, so I don't know "exactly" how many. They said that there was a history of drug abuse in the home by both parents which is an outright lie. My daughter doesn't even smoke pot. They gave her a drug screen that she passed with flying colors. They also said that the utilities in the home are often off which is another lie. My ex and I have given Rachel money to keep them on- they've never been off. I guess they would fall into the distorted fact category. Every good lie contains an element of truth.

If it makes you feel any better, those lies strike me more as if the CPS workers want to make darn sure the kids don’t go back to their parents, to the point of fudging facts, and that’s it. Maybe they hate The Loser as much as you do and are going overboard trying to protect the kids from him? (I’m not defending their behavior as right.) If they didn’t have anything negative to say or tell any lies about Diane or the other grandma, though, I’d take that as a good sign.

I think I heard those called, alternative facts.
