Okay before we get started just a notes about this story. First this is a BotFA fix-it AU, second this will follow the time line of the movies instead of the book, so that those of you who haven't read them won't get confused or be subject to too many spoilers. Second this IS a Bagginshield/Thilbo fanfiction so if homosexuality bothers you cough Assholes ough then you can leave now. Thirdly this isn't JUST a Bagginshield fanfiction it will also have many different aspects to it, and will focus on the character development on most all of the Dwarfs. And lastly this is a slow burn so if you like things to develop at a quick pase then this us not the fanfic for you. Well with out further ado please injoy the story
Disclaimer: in Sherlock voice no obviously not.
Chapter 1
Hobbits where, by nature, gentle folk whom injoyed there simple life of gardening, tea, and gossip. That's why it was quite a surprise when Bilbo Baggins, a good respectable Hoibbit and master of Bag-End, left the shire to go on an adventure with thirteen Dwarfs and a wizard no less. No one had truly expected him to return to the Shire, but he did return, much to the dismay of the Sackville Baggins. But though he did come back in good health there was something not quite right about him, it was almost as if he had both gained and lost a great deal during his adventure. This was very true of course for he had gained a great bit of knowledge and wisdom but had lost three people (or Dwarfs really) that had become very precious to him and, indeed, one that he had (against his better judgement mind you) fallen in love with.
So now, laying on his bed in his cabin on the boat he, his nefew, and old friends where taking to the undying lands, he reflected. He wished in that moment, like he had done so many times before, that he could go back in time to rectify his mistakes and perhaps save the lives of his Dwarfs. As he closed his half blind eyes he remembered an old tale his mother once told him, about a human women whoes love had died tragically, but she had been sent back in time to be to save her love. As Bilbo Baggins drifted off to sleep he wondered or maybe hoped that the Valar might give him the same privilege. But the possibility of that was practically impossible.
Wasn't it?
