“The Gods!!”

The old woman in the shadows screamed as she was awakened form her slumber. She quickly grabbed her chest to catch her breath while trying to recall what she saw. She understands that this is a serious matter considering that she was dramatically awakened from her so called beauty sleep in the middle of the night. Having no visibility of her surroundings, she placed her hands on the rough cold wall right next to her bed. Being aware of where she is, she quickly figured the position of the candle that was right in front of her.

With a little light emanating from the candle near her bed, she saw something that made her realize her mistake. She saw a plate containing a few tablets lying beside a chalice that contains water across the room. She quickly rose out of her bed to consume those pills along with the water. After that she brushed off her hair and walked slowly towards her bed, saying to herself “I guess this is what’s going to happen if you don’t take your meds” She lied down on her bed covering herself in a blanket made of bear’s hide leaving the candle shed it’s light cradling her to sleep.

Deep within the pitch-black darkness, two mighty knights are chattering just outside the old woman’s room. The two felt secure, being surrounded by the well-lit brick walls of this old castle. Since there isn’t much to do, they occasionally stare at the open sky littered with stars as if they were gems on platter, bathing in the moonlight while constantly wondering about the bad decisions that they made in life.

“I smell hostility in the air” with a firm grip, He grabbed the hilt of his sword, took a deep breath and directly looked at the other knight’s seemingly disturbed face.

Seeing his friend wearing somewhat of a downcast demeanor, there he knew that shutting him up was not the best idea. “Why?” he immediately regretted saying that word. He looked down knowing that he lost his chance to stop his friend from blabbering.

Hearing those words, he straightened out his back and raised his hands “I mean earlier this morning, I encountered a few bad omens” he took a slight pause as he wiped the cold sweat running down from his face. “The glass fell of the table and it shattered to pieces, and now dark clouds are gathering on the top of this castle as if there is a storm brewing up”

“What?” he chuckled when he heard the words that came from the mouth of his comrade. “First of all, we are in medieval times so the glass haven’t been invented yet and secondly, the-“He was stopped as he heard the thunder’s roar, the sky was shattered in half as lighting ran right through it. A cluster of dark clouds rapidly swirling at the top of the castle. Winds blew rapidly putting out the fire from the torch one by one.

“oh… okay”
