Heavy weekend of rotavator-digging-planting and sunshine.

It seemed like such a simple idea, remove a bit of grass and add a third garden.

This is the thing though, I might own a farm but my knowledge of farming I could write on the back of a postage stamp, and still have room to lick it. The same applies to my woodwork knowledge - So why I decided to start making fences, gates and a swing for my daughter is pretty much beyond me.

I might as well start by giving you a bit of a chuckle at my Union Jack fence attempt.

No Rotavator - so I hired one.

I picked it up yesterday morning, gave it three pulls of the starter cord, and it snapped clean off, so I went back to the place I got it from and told them, they asked if I could get a new string and fit it, I said sure, for 1 extra days use for free, the deal was sealed.
Now you look at a piece of grass and think that should be easy to remove yes? well I did anyway, foolishly. I have spent the best part of 12 hours turning the soil, removing the grass and weeds, and here is the before and after.

So that is garden 3, small garden 2 just needs a few more rows of seeds or plants putting in tomorrow.

Garden 3 has rows of different varieties of tomatoes, peas, cauliflower, thyme, asparagus and lettuces.
Garden two has mint, radishes that are almost ready to pick, strawberries, tomatoes & 2 different kinds of lettuces this is it below.

The largest garden just got a lot bigger also, the good lady decided she wants it 500 metres x 500 metres now, so that is me pretty much tied up this week digging, ploughing and planting around there now.
We have some well established raspberry plants there that I have moved today to a nice new bit of turned soil, this is the before, I will show you the after next weekend, if anyone is interested.

I did manage a lunch break, and got out my saxophone for a 20 minute session.

I tend to walk around the fields playing it, so that I do not annoy the family, and nobody can hear me out there anyway.
I managed around 15 seconds playing time, then my daughter decided my saxophone is now her saxophone, so that has gone the same way as my electric guitar - to her bedroom. I am thinking a drum kit next, she seriously can not want to play them?

What a gorgeous day to get out and do some gardening, you've a decent plot of land!

It was a gorgeous day today, and yes land I have a plenty, in fact a little too much sometimes, when it comes to cutting grass, not complaining though, you just wait till I have my little steemit village up and running, if I ever manage to do it, and you are of course invited.

That'd be amazing, honestly.

Going to build log wood cabins, to avoid needing planning permission, all will have a kitchen, shower, tv etc and not planning on charging people to stop over for long holidays, sharing is caring, and I have plenty to share my friend.

Can't wait to see you getting started on them, no doubt you'll keep us posted. :D

If you think I am building them you must be crazy lol, did you not see my bloody fence attempt? I am buying them in kit form, and going to get people that know how to, to build them. :-)

That's an easier way of doing things!

That's an awesome weekend, doing some work with nature and playing music with your daughter around, you're living the dream bro! mine has been in front of the computer and books. Don't you have some chickens? I think they can work with you and ad nutrients to the soil.

We did have, though the foxes had them for dinner one night, I have a lot of fences to put up before I can get more. Thanks for the awesome comment, and make a note for yourself to get outside more bro, step away from the pc a little.

Check out justin rhodes channel if you don't know him, there's a lot of info there. I've read you want to build some sort of community on your land, if you think I can help somehow let me know, I don't have many resources or experience, but I have a lot of energy and desire to build and repair.
I know I have to get more sunlight, I'm paler than a nun's knee hahaha just trying to spot my material and mental place, will try to follow your advice tho.

I sue will check it out, and regards to my village idea, I was going to do it long before I cam on steemit, though kept running into local government problems, they are now eliminated, so as soon as I start I will let you know, and of course my friend you would be more than welcome to come over and join in.

I'd be happy to help, learn and meet you, that's a great project, hope to see how it takes shape.

Cheers my friend, I would love to meet you also, there are some superb people on here, and you are 1 of them.

Your woodworking skills look as good as mine. I remember in shop class I made the most lopsided toolbox you ever could lay eyes on.

The broken starter cord is also something that would happen to me. Hey, maybe my luck has drifted to you and I am beginning to turn this franchise around over here. Hahahaha

Awesome how you are planting several gardens. My huge dream is to one day retire with some land and do nothing but work the land. I read a book decades ago about the real alchemists using the soil to transmute their own hearts and the dream always stayed with me.

Just curious, but are you any good on the Sax?

Yes my woodwork sucks lol, you can keep that bad luck though. Working the land sounds romantic, though the reality is it is bloody back breaking stuff, and regards to the sax I am no pro, just a have a go kind of guy, I like improvising and even with the guitar I do the same, I read no music, I just play and have fun. I have played in bands, nothing serious though, just pub stuff for beers and smiles.

though the reality is it is bloody back breaking stuff

It is for sure. I think that might be part of why it is healing.

I do not know how to play any instruments, but one day once i am finally settled somewhere I would like to learn to play the piano.

Finally settled?

Sounds like sir is living a free life on the move to me. :-)

Hah, I wish. Life keeps demanding I start over again. It has been a cycle since my divorce ten years ago. I am hopeful that my determination to stop the cycle will be enough to at least put it on my terms in the coming years.

Oh sorry to hear that my friend, though determination will win through, and you seem like a determined and intelligent man, so in you I have every faith.

Thank you. :)

We are going to have to meet up 1 day for a beer or 10, that's for sure.

Making good progress hope the plants grow well. I worked on my old car project during the weekend.

Which car is this? I apologise that I had not added you to following before, I have now rectified that mistake and added you.

This car is an Australian built Leyland Marina with a factory fitted 6 cylinder motor lots of fun to drive. I just bought it i had one about 15 years ago same colour engine etc almost feels like i bought my old car back. Here is a link for it https://steemit.com/cars/@j85063/leyland-marina-262-six-project-part-1 and thanks for the follow:)

Oh wow, I had zero idea that Leyland had a factory in Australia, thanks for the link also, will check it out now.

I notice that your garden is cool, nature is growing too fast

Thanks my friend.

Funny...At least it 'is' a fence. Twelve hours to turn that patch of dirt? Imagine if you had to do it by hand?

I might be a city boy, but love vegetable gardening...the food tastes so much better plucked fresh from the plants. I'm fortunate enough to have one little corner of my yard that gets enough sun to grow stuff. The neighbor's tree blocks the rest.

Don't think your daughter won't want those drums too if you buy them...Cute.

I bet that crappy fence outlives me lol. And I am also a city boy, hence knowing not a lot about farming, I am a fast learner though and yes bro it is fun and the results are tasty food.
Was only joking regards the drums though, and I see your last posts got some nice upvote loving, congrats, you deserve it.

If you like to protect your next flog of chickens you better learn to put up some other flag's . No o-fence , just kidding ;-) . Ill bet it will do fine for what you wanted it for .
The whole story remembers me of what jealousy feels like , thks , i almost lost that emotion .

My weekend ? don't ask , it's one of deep thinking about personal state and principal . Changes that force me to decide in what world i want to live . There's or mine . The conflict it creates in me tears me in to madness . I easily could be the one ending up in the woods mumbling to myself slapping at mosquito's . So , don't ask , ill manage , somehow ;-) .

Peace .

If you believe in your own ability, you will make it so, positivity is the key, always reach for something out of site even when others try to hold you back. And in the end before you know it, you will find yourself in the ideal world you wanted for you, without even knowing how you got there, least that is what happened to me.

Lies spread by my ex to the law made the law hunt me down .
So i fought the law , and guess ? .....
Now my wages are confiscated by state to pay fines over things i couldn't pay anyway's .
Somehow i am still smiling ,... i got some coin's invested a while ago , these profits will pull me true ;-) .
I always seem to walk that edge of uncertainty , the future is wide open but not safe .
could it be a nasty side effect from living at the moment ?
Well i picked a nice song to fit the feelings , enjoy ;-) .

Ha I love the tune, and to be honest I have always lived by the seat of my pants, or as my mom says, sailing close to the wind, it is the best way. Also you can not lose what you never had.

I bought that song on vinyl way back when.
