It's been a rough week on the farm. At this point 4 of the 6 silkies we brought back from Mexico City have died from upper respiratory infection and climate change. With only two silkies left we purchased antibiotics and at this point both seem visibly better.
This photo shoot was actually done the day when we still had four left. The one you see with me in this picture was both John and my favorite of the bunch, named Cinnamon.
She was adorable and sweet and it's a shame we didn't get to see her grow big.
She died in my hands actually and she somewhat spurred the rush to get antibiotics. We've tried to avoid conventional medicines as a while here but when it came to the last two silkies it seemed worth it especially if it worked, which so far it has.
The chick featured in this photo is still alive and my guess is he's a rooster. We've named him Jack.
Here's the face I make at Rebel when he looks at me with my birds licking his chops.
We've also got one smaller white one alive that is showing improvement every day. It's named cracker to make the duo cracker jack, a totally politically incorrect name as usual.
