There are never-ending tasks for a farmer. It is always hard work and toil but the farmer is in most cases the only one who is able to sleep without any aids.

1. Always make sure the animals are behaving okay. Any slight discomfiture should be noted and the animal or bird observed.

2. The bushes and weeds should be kept in check otherwise the overgrowth may be a good hiding place for poisonous creatures.

3. The seasonal vegetables and fruits if looked after properly can yield good results

4. Always look out for special loans or programs that farmers are often given by the government

5. Make sure that the veterinary doctor checks the animals and birds every month atleast

There are seed bank pages on social networking sites like Facebook. Please make use of it to buy or exchange good quality seeds. Some people also use it to trade cattle and other farm animals. I am a member of such a group and it has proven to be very useful. (I hope someone on steemit starts such a seed bank so that those interested could exchange seeds too. The more we plant, the more we are saving the planet from deforestation abuse.)

A farmer has to have good quality tools. You never know when an emergency might come up and it would be handy to have the right tool, whether it be to repair a machine or do some plumbing work. Added skills like knowing an electrician's work or plumber's job are just great because it will save the farmer from delays related to hiring a person to do the job.

A farmer should always strive to be part of local farmer groups so that benefits can be got easily. For example, government subsidies and the like. There are cooperative societies like the milk marketing federation which helps the farmers get a fair price for products. A world-famous example is Amul, based in India.

A farmer's job may be tedious but it is the most exhilarating.
