The piritu is a well-known fruit in the plains and fields of our nation known as Venezuela, this name is also given to a colonial town of our state Anzoategui called the town of Piritu, when we say colonial is the way to say or see the parts ancient of this fabulous town, which our patriotic heroes walked like: Simon Bolivar our liberator used by ADONAI YAHWEH, Jose Antonio Anzoategui, the name that our state carries, and so many, the piritu is not very common in all VENEZUELA, but its greater harvest is found in these towns such as Piritu, Clarines, sedamo and herrera, its season of abundance and harvest is between October to December.

The fruit of this fruit called piritu is a palm tree, and its scientific name is: Bactris guineensis.

This wonderful fruit and not very common, apart from its benefits for our health that are many, it is also given other very popular and important uses, apart from its fruit is very edible and very tasty, from this you can prepare and take the diferntes products such as: rum, wine, vinegar, and many refrigate beverages, in our fields known as the SEDAMO, in its village patron saint festivities, which are very beautiful, the villagers and peasants grab the cluster of piritu de la palma , and they introduce it inside a glass bottle, mixing it with any alcoholic drink like anise, wine, rum, wiski or any other, after several days it gives it a more intense smell and a very strong flavor, it is where they say mache, armandito, nene and hadasa, "this is a drink for men", is a saying of the villagers and peasants of our presided lands.
