AGRICULTURE IN PAKISTAN:
The principal natural resources of Pakistan are remarkable land and water. About 25% of Pakistan's agricultural accounts are 21% [1] and nearly 43% of the labor force are found. In Pakistan, the most agricultural province is Punjab, where wheat and cotton are the highest. Meng gardens are found mostly in Sindh and Punjab provinces that make Pakistan the world's largest producer.
Pakistan is one of the world's largest producer and food and crop suppliers, in which the production of Pakistan is in the 8th world.
INFORMATION ABOUT AGRICULTURE IN PAKISTAN:
Agriculture is a vital sector of Pakistan's economy and accounted for 25.9 percent of GDP in 1999-2000, according to government estimates. The sector directly supports three-quarters of the country's population, employs half the labor force , and contributes a large share of foreign exchange earnings. The main agricultural products are cotton, wheat, rice, sugarcane, fruits, and vegetables, in addition to milk, beef, mutton, and eggs. Pakistan depends on one of the world's largest irrigation systems to support production.
An important problem is that cotton crops are highly sensitive to bad weather and insects, which appear in crop data. After 2.18 million tonnes in 1991-92, healthy crops increased 1.9 million tonne in 1999-2000, due to less than 1.37 million tonnes in 1990-19.
