Tulip Rooster Crest

Hello friends Steemians, these days of carnivals, during a visit to a great friend I came across a plant that I had never seen, and immediately captivated me by its rare beauty, I asked my friend what plant It was about and he told me it was called Tulip Rooster Crest. I was fascinated and decided to investigate to share with you the wonders of this plant that not only gives us beauty, but that is full of many surprises.

Indeed, it is known as crested cockscomb tulip, it has a scientific name Celosia argentea, this plant is from the botanical family of the Amaranthaceae, however, in other parts of the world it is known by other names, in China they call it Ji Guan Hua, and is very used in natural medicine in that country, in Mexico they call it velvet flower, because the touch feels like this textile, and one of the names that I thought was very funny and picturesque, is like she knows in Nigeria, where they call her Soko yokoto, which means, make your husband fat and happy, since it is used by women from some villages to please their husbands with delicious dishes, since this is edible and they say it has a flavor similar to spinach.

The crested cockscomb flower is a shrub, which grows with erect stem and smooth, its leaves have oval and elongated forms, however, the most particular of this plant is its strange flower, which as the name implies, looks like a crest of rooster, its texture is similar to velvet a little rougher, and it occurs in many colors, the most common being the red color with intense pink tones, in the lower part of the flower its seeds are reproduced, which are tiny and black , from these you can cultivate and reproduce this fascinating plant. If you want to plant this beautiful specimen plant, I recommend it, because besides being ornamental, has wonderful health properties, to grow this tulip you can do it directly on the fertilized soil or you can have pots for that purpose, its care is very simple, since you should only water it every two or three days, and the rest is responsible for the nature of doing your job, because it practically remains alone.

This plant, in addition to all the benefits mentioned above, has health properties among which are:

  • It is used to treat skin sores and all kinds of rashes.
  • It is a powerful natural disinfectant, has been used to heal wounds and burns.
  • It is used to counteract hemorrhoids.
  • Helps women in case of amenorrhea and atypical uterine bleeding according to their dose.
  • Its seed is used as antiparasite, its effectiveness is known in the case of Trichomonas, it is said that the extract of it makes these parasites disappear in just minutes.
  • In traditional Chinese medicine was used to combat the hyperactivity of liver-yang and to improve blurred vision and cataracts. - It is used as a restorative for heart diseases and as a laxative.

Apart from these properties the crested tulip is used as a depurative and laxative to clean the body of impurities, of course this plant should not be abused especially in people with kidney or liver failure and in the case of pregnant women, infants and children .

Friends I hope you like this post, where you can see how wonderful this plant can be, as well as the beauty it can bring to your environments.
