The baobab is a tree that comes from Africa, there is a diversity of these trees in smaller form that grows in Australia. The fruit of this tree is a large dry berry with an elongated shape that contains seeds inside.
In Africa the seeds of this plant need the elephants to be dispersed in the earth, the seeds of the baobab are very hard, but they can support the digestive tract of these large herbivorous animals, then they fall to earth wrapped in manure which will favor their rooting and growth.

So that we can successfully grow these seeds in our homes, we have to soak them in hot water for 24 hours before planting.
We proceed to scrape with a paper sandpaper until we notice the white part of the seed, we hope that it dries and we proceed to plant it in a pot with substrate. Its germination is slow, so we will not see the seedling until 3 or 4 months after planting.

The soil of the pot where we will plant should be found with a good drainage system, it is convenient and advisable to mix the substrate with sand or perlite. The soil must be kept at a temperature between 14 and 18ºC for germination to occur. This requires a moderate irrigation, the soil should be moist but not soaked with water and do not water again until the soil is well dry. Baobab roots are prone to rot as well as the sabila where I explain it in my previous publication, these rot when they have an excess of moisture. After realizing all these procedures we will place the pot in a sunny place.
When the seedling measures about 7.4 cm, we proceed to the transplant in another pot where it has much more space. We should not expose it to temperatures below 10ºC and then it will be in the hibernation phase so we should not water it. If we can plant it outdoors it must be well protected from the rains, excess moisture will cause fungal diseases.
