Pepper as a vegetable has different variants such as Black Pepper, Cubeb, Indian Long Pepper, Indonesian Long Pepper, Ashanti Pepper, Bell Pepper, and Cayenne Pepper e.t.c
The one commonly in use in this part of the world is the BELL PEPPER. They are actually spices with hot and pungent taste used for preparing meals or adding flavour to particular recipes.
It usually comes in different colours such as green, yellow, orange and red. Anyways the most common of them is the red colour.
Pepper as a vegetable has a lot of nutritional benefits and a good meal cannot be seen as complete without a touch of pepper in it.

And a lot of others of others to numerous to mention.
METHODS OF GROWING PEPPER
Bell peppers are usually grown from the seed and grown indoors about eight weeks before the frost free date.
The seedlings are normally buried in the soil and watered on a daily basis, within a week the seedlings should have made an appearance.
It should be noted that regularly weeding should be done so as to help the pepper grow well, the pepper plants should also be properly fertilised , then when the pepper is fully ripe, the pepper can be picked from the plant.
STORAGE METHODS FOR PEPPERS
Peppers should be placed in plastic bags and refrigerated.
It can be dried in an oven as a means of storage.
It can be stored by canning.
HEALTH BENEFITS OF PEPPER
Pepper contains a lot of vitamins and nutrients that are useful to the body.
Such vitamins include;
VITAMIN B1, VITAMIN B2, VITAMIN B3, VITAMIN E, VITAMIN K, MANGANESE, MAGNESIUM, PHOSPHORUS, POTASSIUM, MOLYBYDNUM AND FIBER.
These vitamins and elements as we know them are very useful to the body and hence essential in our daily life.
ADVERSE EFFECTS
Peppers are generally healthy but some people might be allergic to them, while some people might experience heart burn from the consumption of it.
It is seen that pepper is a house hold name and it is easy to plant and harvest and an integral part of most meals, therefore we should focus on it in our bid to feed the world.
