The true meaning of Faroe Islands is Sheep islands. This is originated in old norse. I'd say this is still true because while being around the population of 50.000 people, we have about 70.000 sheep, so there's more than one sheep per person.
The faroese men are busy taking care of the sheep properly. in the summer, the sheep get sheared to survive in "the heat", they're getting medicine once a year etc..
After a good day working in the beautiful nature, there's nothing better than having a cold faroese Gull Øl (beer)!
