Exhibit One: What is Actually Powering These Buses?
Sometimes when forming an acronym you've got to be careful! This is the case when it comes to the public transport system in the area of Locarno Switzerland.
The system is called: Ferrovie Autolinee Regionali Ticinesi. Of course, no one wants to say that big mouthful every time and so they've decided to use an acronym. That's right, you guessed it, it's FART.
This name has been emblazoned onto every one of their buses, signs and adverts and the tourists LOVE it!

The Tourists Love it!
If you travel to the area it's not at all unusual to see tourists posing, pointing at the logo and having a friend take a snap shot! I'm convinced that the Ferrovie Autolinee Regionali Ticinesi has caught on by now but what the heck, it's a lot of fun!

Ahah! You keep to my mind some memories! The first time I knew the meaning of the word "fart" was when I took a friend of my mine visiting from Chicago to Locarno station. He started to laugh like crazy and I didn't know why. Funny part is that since he was going to Valais he took the FART train. He had a safe trip by the way, maybe not that fragrant....

Lol, when my husband was looking for a new company name, he was having fun and wanted to name it McImp. I was against it because I felt many would say "HEY, there's that McImpotent guy" lol. To be honest despite you make have funny acronyms like 'fart' but it is marketing genius. It is like when Starbucks employees spell your name wrong and you have the urge to go on social media to show everyone where in reality you are boosting publicity for a company and the same is happening here.

I had to burst out in laughter when i saw this.... A serious business name being taken for a jolly ride...
I mean how do you mumble such a seriously sounding business name and end up blabbing out fart?
Its a killer for tourists! I can imagine kids just taking shots at this... Laughing at the buses and their drivers when they pass by, the drivers probably clueless why so much attention on them, cos they probably dont know the english meaning of the word.... But if they did know, should they feel ashamed for the company they are employed in having such a comical name, or should they feel proud they are drawing such attention from tourists and general english speakers, even though the attention is somewhat derogatory?
I mean c'mon, who calls his favorite thing of interest a fart?... Im still trying to wrap my head around this one.... Im sure its not the last i will hear of this.
