Quietly, fascists and Q-Anon acolytes have been taking over control of elections.
It is a going to be a very brief matter of time until they sow so much chaos into an election that either state legislatures will choose the winner or there will simply be multiple self-declared winners with no good way to determine the truth of the matter.
I will be surprised and grateful if we don’t see this kind of chaos in 2022 or 2024.
