Coat of compliments might sound like a proverb but I really do mean it quite literally. This blue coat that I showcase in my professional mirror selfies, is a magical clothing item. Every time, and I mean every time I wear this coat, I get complimented by a stranger.

Here's the thing, Finnish people do_not_talk to strangers, unless we are drunk. And Finnish people certainly don't talk to strangers in any positive manner, like giving a compliment just out of nowhere. This bright blue wool coat has some sort of barrier shattering properties because the amount of compliment I get from random people is insane. I think the only other time I have gotten so many compliments has been when I've worn out my 50's pin up dress, but that is very extra, this coat is for everyday wear.

Once I sat down to have coffee alone in a coffee shop, and the lady from the next table complimented me and my coat, and asked where I got it from. The other day I was going to the grocery store and two older ladies came out as I was walking in, and the other one ooh'd and aah'd how beautiful my coat is. Next one to compliment the coat was a worker in a thrift shop.

I know people mostly compliment the coat, but I do think no matter what you wear, it's how you wear it that matters. I just throw on this blue coat and I feel like my mood is lifted and I am sure that radiates to the outside world. I know it goes really well with my cool undertone skin, and simple wardrobe with mostly monochrome colours and denim blues. The coat was a really lucky find from a Marks and Spenser sale in January, I think I paid like 35€ for it, which is a bargain for wool, even though this is a think wool coat without a lining.

If I am ever feeling drab when I have to go outside, I throw this magic coat on and everything is instantly better. I just try to not wear it all the time, so that I won't use up the magic.
