What To Wear to a Bridal Shower (PT. 1)

Okay, so I know I’ve shared plenty in my past posts on where to shop as a bride for all your bridal festivities and needs but now I’ll be sharing a lot about where to shop as a bridesmaid or wedding guest! I was checking my email earlier and received one from Lulu’s titled “Weddings Are Coming…” and BOY, ARE THEY! I’m heading into a time where all of my beautiful friends are getting married and I couldn’t be more excited! We have two this fall and three next year! So expect lots of guest dress and bridesmaid inspo to come!
One of my beautiful friends, who is getting married this September, just had her bridal shower this past weekend fiesta style, piñata and all!! Believe it or not, I don’t typically wear dresses and didn’t really have anything appropriate to wear for the occasion. I just so happen to be browsing on one of my favorite online boutiques, The Oxford Trunk who I discovered from Pinterest, when I came across the Sapphire Blue Maxi Dress and thought it’d be perfect for the fiesta! I’ve been obsessing over this color for quite some time and was pretty ecstatic to see it on this hi-low beauty. I loved that the neckline was high and all the detailing was in the back. I don’t have anything like it! Paired it with a light shoe (also love it in this color) for a dramatic contrast to the dress, a printed bag for some depth, and festive earrings (currently sold out but also love these)!!

The back is so gorgeous but it did ride pretty low on me. So I paired a bandeau to hide my bra. And no, I’m not going braless so don’t even suggest that to me… LOL.

I have to cut this post shorter than I promised due to the fact that I’m running out of time and I have to get ready for my husband and I’s anniversary celebrations today! But while I continue to comb through my favorite sites for the best dresses to wear for wedding occasions and compile them all on here for you, just remember the #1 rule:

NEVER WEAR WHITE (like, duh.)
