Revealing a couture with experimental opulence, which transcends the codes of an art too often frozen in time: such is the mission that Pierpaolo Piccioli, artistic director of the Valentino collections, gives himself. He who defines himself as an anti-conventional still delivered today his intellectual conception of this exercise of high flight, between work of goldsmith and staging of a cloakroom on the borders of reality. An almost sacred vision that he combines on each of the silhouettes he imagined in the image of a Renaissance artist.
Born from a vibrant palette of colors, the nuances reveal themselves uncompromisingly on silhouettes with moving lines and drapes, revealing a striking visual harmony. A long cape entirely embroidered with emerald glitter energizes a neo-bourgeois silhouette while the evening dresses are embellished with puffed sleeves and stripping volumes. Sumptuous brocades, grandiloquent ruffles, and pictorial motifs also complete this stylistic symphony, drawing in filigree a dreamy treasure-like wardrobe.
"The beauty of an haute couture creation will never reveal the amount of work and the hours needed to produce it," he said one day. However, to see this surreal cloakroom scroll under our eyes, we risk willingly guess it.
