100% agree on the synthetic fibres, but it can be so difficult getting away from them. I should set this as one of my goals. Talking to people about how bad they are is just asking to be looked at like you're a tinfoil-hat moron, lol. Synthetics are such a bain to me also because of their static buildup. zap zap
I also love the earthy, natural creations you are making - definitely fabulous. I was lucky enough to be gifted a spinning wheel, so this is also part of my 'one day' plan. :)

Oh thank you!! Second hand stores can usually be a treasure trove of cotton and wool clothing, to be honest! LOL> tin foil polyester conspiracist...

those are beautiful, amazing pieces. wow!

and i agree, we need to focus on quality over quantity with our clothes. we keep them on (typically) for a LONG TIME. who doesn't want something nice, cozy, and safe against their skin?

Thank you so much!

You do sure beautiful work!

Thank you so much! It is soulfood for me!

Your work is absolutely beautiful. I am in the beginning stages of learning how to work with wool. I think it is an art we need to get back to. Thank you so much. This is very inspiring.

Oh I am so glad it is inspiring to you!!! and congrats on your journey into the world of wool! If you have any questions let me know. I look forward to posting more in the upcoming weeks.

Yep, you´re right!
That´s the luxury we should all go for, beautiful, mindfully crafted products
made from sustainable base material.

Thank you so much!

This is gorgeous (fantastic lush and earthy photos!) and I love hearing more of the story behind your weaving (I feel so similarly)! Resteeming this gem <3

Thank you very much!!!

Very beautiful work. I would love to be able to do this. I would wear only what I made. I am inspired by your talent.

Thank you!

a great post and really wonderful shots you look gorgeous

Thank you so much!

Oh...I’m jealous. I’ve long wanted to spin and dye our wool, but with life going, going, going...I decided it’s just not going to happen until life slows down a bit. We, too, much prefer linen and wool over synthetics. The Bible even tells us that linen and wool should be our clothing..but not mixed together. A side note: did you know that linen and wool, when mixed together actuallly counteract each other and it destroys their protective qualities for our bodies?

That is very interesting! No I had not heard of that before. What kind of sheep do you have? Have you ever considered having the wool milled into roving? Such a good investment sometimes, imo.

Sorry for the delay...been really busy lately. After several years of telling myself I would spin the wool that season and failing to actually DO it...we switched to hair sheep. Less maintenance.

You are very gifted at what you do. It really must feel quite amazing to create something so natural and beautiful from the very beginning with the textiles you use and come away with the end product and know it has been made by your own hands. resteemed x

@trucklife-family thank you so much for resteeming and for stopping by! I really enjoy getting to work with fiber, it is truly "soul-food"!!!

I absolutely love the fact that you hand make and dye your work. The photo of the woolen shaw looks like a really old photo that has been colorized! Great shot and great work you do!!

What an interesting observation, I think I see what you mean! Thank you!
