Long Island Fathers Day Beach Weekend First 90s Monday

Long Island Fathers Day Beach Weekend First 90s Monday

After spending the spring fighting the usual battles with winds off the cold ocean , low clouds, and rain, we are finally seeing a set up to bring some real beach weather for Long Island this weekend and Monday of next week. This comes just in time for Fathers Day. The weather beginning Thursday will be great through Sunday with reasonable humidity into Sunday afternoon. Monday will be the hot humid day and the first 90 degree readings are likely inland and the beaches will be a nice place for relief with temperatures in the 70s to near 80. No showers or thunderstorms are forecast through Sunday with the first chance coming late Monday afternoon and night.

Satellite and radars right now show low pressure moving across Upstate NY and into New England. The trailing cold front has yet to pass so there is the chance of another shower or thunderstorm. We will watch the radars this evening to see what if anything fires up. The threat for any severe weather is well north and west of Long Island in Upstate NY.

Overnight skies will clear out. Sunshine should be wall to wall on Thursday. We haven't had a stretch like this all spring and it is nice that we are finishing the season on a good note and in time for Fathers Day.
