It's very easy.
For XEM/NEM you enter your NEM address, resolve the two captchas, and then you claim. There is testnet and mainnet (real money).
For STEEM, you join a membership (bronze, silver or gold), transfer the corresponding fee, and then resolve the two captchas, and you claim Steem Dollars every periodic time.
