7-Day Favourite "This and That" Challenge: Day 7 - Favourite Monument (personal facts)

in favouritethisandthat •  7 years ago

Last day of this challenge that I enjoyed every single day of it and I wanna thank once again @tkappa for his idea about it!! So today I will share with you my favourite monument. This is Stonehenge! One can say you are Greek, you Greeks have the widely known Parthenon and you choose some stones over this masterpiece? Why? Because I had so much fun that day I visited it and since this monument is related to the best memories, I love it! At the end of the day experiences and memories worth more than anything else.

So I will not begin giving you historical facts about it (you can browse for them anyway) but I will give you my own facts here!

Fact #1: I went there!

I had a good time visiting Stonehenge too. It was back in 2012 (I think) when I first went, because I went back one more time in 2014. Truth be told it's nothing special, no? Especially if you compare it with our temples and monuments. However, this challenge is about our favourite monuments (you traitor lol) not the most significant from a historical or cultural point of view.

As for your beautiful photos, what can I say? The Best of by Britney Spears will be playing for the rest of the day :P

Thank you for taking part in my challenge, my dear @eliakon. I would say you had the second best posts behind mine :P he he (I am kidding, of course).

Oh I went in 2014 as well!! Is there any chance that we visited that place the same day? :P The truth is that it is really nothing special but as I said I loved that day and that excursion so.. :) (I laughed so much with the "you traitor" LOL)

Thank you so much for the nomination @tkappa as I REALLY liked this challenge more than any other!! :)) hahah "second best posts" sounds great no problem with that :PP

Well, if I had seen you I am sure something like that would've happened (with me being the girl of the gif lol), so I doubt we were there on the same day :P

It's a beautiful place indeed! :)

yes

Είναι φοβερό μέρος! Τελικά την πετρά την τράβηξε? :ppp

Είναι υπέροχα όντως Νίκο! Την πέτρα ούτε καν! Ασήκωτη! :P

Awesome!! I’ve been wanting to go there... the scale and mass of some of these [ancient] monuments is unbelievable!

It’s also cool / interesting how personal experiences can make or break a memory tied to a specific place, time, person etc...

That's true!! And it is impressive that it took 1500 years to erect!

I think you are right! Everything has to do with personal experiences.. The most beautiful place on earth can live the worst memories if you don't enjoy your time there..

ΗΑΗΑ! I liked your pics, so funny!

I'm so jealous though! I've always wanted to visit that place!

Have a good day!

Thank you so much @lorneroo!! :)

It's actually a cool place to visit! If/When you'll go to London it's a daily trip you should not miss for sure ;)

Have a good day too!! :))

You were there? Did you touch these stones? 😲

haha OH yeah! I really did!! :PP

It's one of those places that i really really want to go to someday.
Did you ask the guide if you could take one of the stones home xD?

It's really nice there but you can also combine that excursion with Windsor or Bath :))
haha I guessed that I couldn't :PP
