Back in November of 2007 Federal Premium partnered with Ruger to create a new personal defense revolver cartridge. They announced that the 327 Federal Magnum would have the ballistics of a 357 Magnum out of a 32-caliber platform. The cartridge was later released on the market in January 2008.
