Facebook is one such company that is taking big steps towards rebooting its ad industry and one of the ways is doing so is airing exclusive shows. The social media giant recently announced a deal to stream 20 live MLB games this year, and now its expanding its sports presence in a few more areas, targeting sports as one of the six key genres where they’re paying content companies (including SB Nation parent Vox Media) to create shows exclusive to Facebook and bring in ad tools to let other big media companies (including ESPN) directly sell ad inventory to marketers looking to reach consumers targeted with Facebook data.
