Staying motivated is often the most difficult part of maintaining any aspect of a healthy lifestyle, including exercise. Women’s health matters most, undeniably the most understudied area. Feminine health is a sensitive area to explore and treat, and I want to share my experience of facing hard times dealing with health issues common in females.
Ahh, man yeah, I definitely have to write about this! Sell all my life, and I’ve always had heavy menstrual cycles, I mean so heavy it was unbearable along with the pain. I would have flu-like symptoms and damn near would need to be rushed to the hospital because the temperature was so high. But the main reason why I wanted to discuss this topic is that I had 20 fibroids removed from my uterus, which is also called a Myomectomy. I remember going to several doctors and telling them about my issues about how my periods were so painful and heavy. Each doctor acted like it was too huge of a chore or procedure to discuss further.

They kept giving me ibuprofen and told me to use heating pads and to take it easy. But no! That did not help because of the heavy menstrual cycles and the flu-like symptoms. I would miss out on many activities because it would affect my day. I would have to cancel some show appearances and couldn’t be around anybody! Until I met this female doctor in Oakland, California, who pressed on my stomach the first day I met her and said she didn’t need to look any further; she felt the fibroids very strongly. After she sent me to get an ultrasound, they said it was like cauliflower sitting on my uterus. They could barely even see my uterus. So I went ahead and got the procedure done. I stayed in the hospital for about 4 to 5 days with massive bleeding, and I felt like I just got hit by a truck, LOL. But the hospital was so kind to me that I had several different nurses that came to my aid for everything. Then my mom walks in with a picture of the fibroids that were removed, and oh my god, there were 20 of them, LOL, can you believe that? Twenty gross, nasty things have been sitting in my stomach for years!
Fibroids are no joke. Remove them if they are bothering you, or they could ruin your life! It’s hard being a woman; we have so many things to take care of when it comes to our bodies, looking good, making money, interacting with others, and having children. Ladies, take care of yourselves and always see your gynecologist if you have concerns about any feminine issues! Oh, and by the way, divas, please please practice safe sex and find the right birth control that’s for you.
